The Front Parlor

In Victorian homes, the front parlor greeted guests and functioned as a multifunctional space for the family, offering a warm environment for reading, playing chess, and socializing.
Entering the main parlor is akin to stepping back in time. The late nineteenth-century sideboard, acquired from the original owner's great-granddaughter, made its journey to California from Indiana on the last wagon train headed west. Above the fireplace hangs a painting of a Victorian horse race, fittingly representing the town's namesake, who owned some of the most notable racehorses on the West Coast in the 1800s.
